What Locals Say about Summit

"most lots are significant in size and most people with dogs have fences to keep their dogs safe from the busy roads. it also makes walking feel safer to have the fences. "

"Community BBQs, local family-friendly events, the churches are always hosting some sort of kid- and/or family-friendly event "

"Honestly, there's not really a whole lot of community events here. We basically travel to Tacoma (which is what Summit is part of anyway) to go to street parties and stuff. But, I prefer Summit to actually reside in because it's more quiet, has less crime, traffic & people and there's fields & farmlands and the people are nicer. We look out for each other. The neighbors help keep an eye on each other's places, especially when they know another is away. "

"not near enough public transportation by my street. I have to drive to get where I need to go. The closest bus stop is like 4 miles from my home, but it's not like that everywhere in Summit."

"the closest bus stop from my home is over 3 miles away and the closest store is the same. corner store/gas station is 2 1/2 miles. there are no sidewalks on the way there either. you have to drive or ride your bike and there's not anywhere to lock up a bike anyway, so best drive!"

"It's very quiet and the crime rate is very low. You're still in the city with a very country feel. Neighbors are great. This is a kid friendly area."
